What is a LinkedIn MCP server?

A LinkedIn MCP server lets an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT read and act on your LinkedIn. What it does, and why approval matters.

The short answer

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard plug that lets AI apps use outside tools. A LinkedIn MCP server is one of those tools: once your assistant is connected to it, the assistant can read your LinkedIn and, if you allow it, act there for you.

Finchreach is a remote LinkedIn MCP server at https://mcp.finchreach.com/mcp. Your assistant can read your feed, notifications and messages, search LinkedIn, and draft text posts, direct messages and connection invitations. Every one of those writes waits in your approval queue until you approve it.

Why approval matters

An assistant can misread a request or be steered by text it reads. Keeping a person between the draft and LinkedIn means nothing goes out in your name that you have not seen. It also keeps the pace yours.

Automating a personal LinkedIn account carries risk under LinkedIn’s User Agreement. Approval lowers it; nothing removes it.
