# Quickstart

Connect your LinkedIn account in the dashboard, add `https://mcp.finchreach.com/mcp` to your assistant (it signs in with OAuth, or send an API key as a Bearer header), then ask it to read your feed. Writes wait for your approval.

## 1. Connect your LinkedIn account

Sign in and open [Accounts](https://finchreach.com/accounts). Connect your LinkedIn account; Finchreach checks the session and gives the account a residential exit in your country.

## 2. Add the MCP server to your assistant

Clients that support remote MCP with OAuth (Claude, ChatGPT connectors, Claude Code, Cursor) only need the URL: `https://mcp.finchreach.com/mcp`. They open a Finchreach consent page where you pick the scopes.

Claude Code:

Clients that take headers instead can use an API key. Create one under [API keys](https://finchreach.com/api-keys) (it is shown once) and add:

## 3. Make a first read

> Ask your assistant: “Use Finchreach to show me the five most recent posts in my LinkedIn feed.”

Reads run right away and count against your [rate limits](https://finchreach.com/docs/rate-limits).

## 4. Approve a first write

> Ask your assistant: “Draft a LinkedIn post about what I shipped this week and submit it with Finchreach.”

The tool answers `{ status: "pending_approval", action }`. Open [Approvals](https://finchreach.com/approvals), check the exact text and approve it; the assistant can follow it with `linkedin_get_action`. More in [Approvals](https://finchreach.com/docs/approvals).
